Dancing since the age of 5, Samantha was introduced to the world of ballet in the early years of her childhood. Since then, dance has become part of her life. At age 10, she discovered a brand new dance style and immediately fell in love with it - Hip hop. Since then, she has participated in Dance Works '00 & '01 and won first runner up for the first year and second runner up (zone) in 2001.

Hip hop groomed her and made her discover there are many other dance styles. Meanwhile she also have been performed for the Big Groove 2008, Sean Kingston Opening Act @ MOS, TPDE GEMS 4 Annual Concert 2008-2009 too.

2007 saw her signing up for Reggae/Dancehall classes and from there, she found her love for Dancehall and its culture. Under her instructor’s grooming, Samantha was exposed more in Singapore’s dance industry and has competed in Suntec Dance Competition 2008 as a finalist

 


Reggae Dance Description :

Dancehall/Reggae is originated from the Jamaican culture in which most of the dance moves are a reflection of the local culture. It focuses a lot on precise body and percussive hip isolations, together with movements such as Butterfly, Give Dem a Run and Dutty Wine etc., bringing about an energetic and enjoyable lesson!
